Enrichment Program Information
Dates & Times: Monday, June 26 through Friday, July 21, 2017, from 8:30 a.m.– 12:00 p.m. at Carmel Creek and Solana Vista schools. Classes will not be held on July 4th, in observance of Independence Day.
Locations: The Enrichment Program will be held at Carmel Creek School, 4210 Carmel Center Rd., San Diego, (858) 794-4400 and at Solana Vista School, 780 Santa Victoria Ave. Dr., Solana Beach, (858)794-3700.
Fees: $435 for online enrollment and $450 for mail-in, faxed or walk-in registration. Some of the courses have a supplies fee. Please see the course description for the specific amount. Master Card, Visa, and American Express credit cards will be accepted. Credit card statements will show this as charged to “SBSD Summer Enrichment.” Make checks payable to: "SBSD Summer Enrichment." The check payment option is NOT available online.
Registration: Registration Deadline: June 9, 2017 by 4:00 p.m. After June 9th you must register in person at the school site on the first day of school on June 26, 2017. Late registration will take place on June 26, 27, 28 at the school sites. Students who register during late registration will begin class the next day after registration. Mail-in registrations will be processed the following business day. Summer program classes are open to children from all districts. You will receive registration confirmation by e-mail once you have completed your on-line registration. Please keep a copy of the email confirmation for your records.
Scholarships: There are a limited number of scholarships available for the enrichment classes. To be eligible for scholarships, students must meet the following criteria:
1. Eligible and approved for free or reduced cost meals within the Solana Beach School District during the 2016-17 school year.(SBSD students ONLY) Student must be currently enrolled in the free/reduced program. The district will check eligibility.
2. Child(ren) must attend all 19 days for the full 3.5 hours per day.
There are a limited number of scholarships. Applications for scholarships will be accepted April 1 - April 29, 2017. To apply for a scholarship please complete the pink Enrichment Program Registration Form (found in your local school front office), submit the registration form to the District Office. The district will check eligibility and send confirmation letters out in June to those students who are selected for scholarship.
Cancellation Policy: Solana Beach School District reserves the right to cancel classes due to low student enrollment. If it is necessary to cancel a class a full refund is guaranteed or we would like to invite you to choose another "open" class. Refund Policy: Please contact [email protected] to request a refund. If the student has been registered longer than 60 days the district will have to help generate the refund back to the parent, a $25 cancellation fee may apply depending on the reason for the refund. Refunds will NOT be granted after the first day of class. A full refund will only be given if the class is canceled. Absolutely no refunds, credits or transfers of payment made for the class will be given once the classes start regardless if your child attends or not. Class Changes: Any class changes must be made by: June 9, 2017 by 4:00 p.m.
Childcare: Childcare will be available through the Child Development Center (CDC) for the Enrichment Program at Solana Vista for grades K-7 and Carmel Creek for grades K-3 and Solana Pacific for grades 4-6. Please call CDC at (858) 794-7160 for further information. After program care is handled DIRECTLY by the CDC office.
Lunch: Lunch will NOT be served at the school sites.
Ready, Set, Go: Students must be 5 BEFORE September 1, 2017.
