Registration & Summer Classes

Online registration and summer class schedules will be available on Saturday, April 1, 2017.

Registration Deadline: June 9, 2017 by 4:00 p.m.

After June 9th you must register in person at the school site on the first day of school, June 26, 2017. Late registration will take place on June 26, 27, 28 at the school sites. Students who register during late registration will begin class the next day after registration. Mail-in registrations will be processed the following business day. Summer program classes are open to children from all districts. You will receive registration confirmation by e-mail. Please keep a copy of the confirmation for your records.

Accepted Payment: Credit Card – American Express, Master Card, Visa, Check – Payable to “SBSD Summer Enrichment”. Check payment option NOT available online. Some courses have a supply fee. Please check the course description for the specific amount.

Cancellation & Refund Policy:

Cancellation Policy - Solana Beach School District reserves the right to cancel classes due to low enrollment. If it is necessary to cancel a class a full refund is guaranteed. We would also like to invite you to choose another "open" class. Refund Policy & Procedure- Parents are to log onto their own accounts, scroll down to where their student is showing which class they are registered in and click on the "cancel" button. This will generate a credit back to their credit card. If the the student has been registered longer than 60 days in the online registration the district will have to help generate a manual refund back to the parent, a $25 processing fee may apply to the refund. Please email the refund request to [email protected] prior to the first day of school. Refunds will not be granted after the first day of class. A full refund will only be given if the class is canceled. Absolutely no refunds, credits or transfers of payment made for the class will be given once the classes start regardless if the child attends or not.

Confirmation Letters:

Confirmation letters will be mailed after June 15th, 2017.

Class Changes:

Plan carefully! The district reserves the right to make class changes to better balance out the classroom setting. Class changes will be accepted up to June 9, 2017 by 4:00 p.m.

Do you offer Scholarships?

Yes, there are a limited number of scholarships available for enrichment classes. Scholarships are ONLY for current SBSD students and their siblings. To be eligible for scholarships, students must meet the following criteria:

 

1. Eligible and approved for Free or Reduced cost meals within the Solana Beach School District during the 2016- 2017 school year.

2. Child(ren) must attend all 19 days of school for the full 3.5 hours per day.

Since there are a limited number of seats, priority will be given to students based on district review of academic performance assessments. Applications for scholarships will be accepted until April 29, 2017. To apply for a scholarship pick up a pink Summer Enrichment registration form at your school site, complete the registration form and submit it to the district office at 309 N. Rios, Solana Beach, CA 92075.

Lunch

Lunch will NOT be provided at either school. Please send a snack with your student each day.

If the class I want to register for is already full is there a waiting list?

Yes. We do have a waiting list. When a class fills up, please call 858-794-7198 or email us with your request at Email: [email protected]> and ask to be placed on the waiting list. We will contact you as soon as there is an opening.

What if my child is going to be absent?

Please call the actual summer school site (CC or SV) to report that your child will be absent. Do not report your child's absence to the district office. There will be no credit or refunds for missed days of class.

Will I get to select my child’s Kindergarten teacher for the Ready, Set, Go! Program?

Cooking, crafts, numbers, and letters, build self-confidence, learn classroom routines, share ideas and make new friends. Although it cannot be guaranteed, every effort will be made to place your child with students from the school he, or she, will be attending in the fall. Student must be 5 years old by September 1, 2017. Please include the school that your child will attend in the fall on the online registration form. The 2017-2018 classroom placements are not made until after Summer Enrichment concludes. Confirmation letters will be mailed out after June 15th, 2017.

Should I send a snack with my Kindergartener?

Yes, please send a snack and drink with your child

Do you provide before and after school care during summer school?

Yes, Childcare will be available before and after school through the Solana Beach Child Development Center (CDC) for the Enrichment Program at Carmel Creek and Solana Vista school site. This is a separate registration form and fee. Please contact CDC at (858) 794-7160 for further information.

Pick Up, Drop Off

Anyone picking up or dropping off a child during enrichment hours must go to the summer site main office (CC or SV) and fill out the “Sign In/Out Sheet” located at the front desk. They must be authorized and present a current picture I.D.

Can I send my child for only a week?

We believe that an enjoyable summer experience is a 19 day experience. For this reason, we do not prorate our classes.
